Taro and Lanzarote Smart Island, candidates for two awards to be awarded at FITUR 2020

The conversational assistant of the Centers is a finalist in the “Chatbots Tourism Awards” for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, ITH recognizes the Lanzarote Cabildo project “Lanzarote Smart Island” in the “AMT Smart Destination Award 2020”


Taro, the conversational assistant of CACT Lanzarote, is a finalist, for the second consecutive year, of the “Chatbots Tourism Awards 2020”, a contest organized by SEGITTUR and FITUR, in collaboration with Planet Chatbot, which aims to recognize the best solutions of Chatbots and conversational technology to improve the tourist experience before, during and after the trip.

Taro, which competes with Canaryfulness (relaxing sounds of the nature of the Canary Islands) and Quito Guide (which answers any questions about Quito) in the category of tourist destination, is a project led by the ICT (Information Technology and the Communication) of the Centers, which is enriched by user contributions and open innovation initiatives organized by the Entity.

The election of the winner and the delivery of awards will be this next Thursday, January 23, at 5:00 p.m., in the context of Know-how & Export, in FITUR.



AMT Smart Destination Award 2020


Minutes earlier, at 4:00 p.m., also at FITUR, the final of the III edition of the AMT Smart Destination Award will begin, an initiative of the Hotel Technology Institute that recognizes the best national technological solutions and tools for the development of an intelligent tourist destination (DTI).

Lanzarote Smart Island “Intelligent Reserve of the Biosphere”, the project executed by the Centers through the Canary Islands Development Fund managed by the Planning and Project Coordination Area of ​​the Cabildo de Lanzarote run by Jacobo Medina, has been chosen as a finalist in the category ‘Interaction with tourists and citizens’ of a contest that also distinguishes innovation in areas such as governance and public management; accessibility; environmental sustainability and promotion and marketing.
